Wedding pastries, or 喜饼 (xi bing), are traditionally gifted along with a couple’s wedding invitation. It’s typically prepared by the bride’s family, and consists of specific pastries that symbolise love and longevity — amongst other blessings for the couple. Every dialect group has its must-haves in their xi bing boxes, but I think the most important thing for couples is to think about what you’d personally like to include!
